Toran
Torans are a traditional decoration used to decorate the main entrance of a home or other premises. They are made of marigolds and other flowers intertwined with mango leaves. Torans are used to decorate homes during major Hindu festivals and auspicious occasions, such as Diwali or weddings. The idea behind decorating homes is to please and attract the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi. Torans are also the first thing that welcomes guests.
Torans are also the Hindu name for a sacred Buddhist archway. These archways are usually wooden and often ornately carved
